Keep children out of marital disputes. Workshop exercises: 1) Identify ways children can get pulled into conflict. 2) Agree never to use children as messengers, spies, or judges. 3) Create a private conflict time and place. 4) Plan what to say if children witness an argument.
Children should not carry adult relational burdens. Parents can reassure them without sharing inappropriate details.
