Who I Am Beyond Labels

Help teenagers build a healthy identity grounded in God-given worth rather than popularity, appearance, achievement, or mistakes. Workshop exercises: 1) Write five labels others may use for you and five qualities you believe describe your true character. 2) Read Psalm 139:13-14 and list three ways your life has value. 3) Create an ‘I am becoming’ statement with three positive character goals. 4) Name one trusted adult who encourages the real you.

Emphasize inherent dignity and growth rather than perfection. Avoid comparing teens. Encourage identity rooted in being loved by God while allowing room for questions and individual development.

Workshop exercises: 1) List five things you do well or are improving at. 2) Ask two trusted people to name a strength they see in you. 3) Choose one strength to practice this week. 4) Write how that strength could be used to help another person.

Use 1 Peter 4:10 as a service-oriented theme. Strengths are not reasons for superiority; they are capacities to develop and use responsibly.

My Values Compass

Help teenagers identify values that can guide choices under pressure. Workshop exercises: 1) Choose ten values from a list and narrow them to five. 2) Define what each value looks like in daily life. 3) Describe one situation where two values might compete. 4) Write one decision rule based on your top values.

Connect values to Micah 6:8 and other appropriate Scripture. Encourage teens to understand why they hold values rather than simply repeating adult language.

My Growth Story

Help teens see development as a process rather than a fixed identity. Workshop exercises: 1) Draw a timeline of three challenges you have already grown through. 2) Write what each experience taught you. 3) Identify one area where you are still growing. 4) Write a letter to your future self about the person you hope to become.

Use Philippians 1:6 as encouragement for ongoing growth. Avoid forcing teens to disclose painful experiences publicly.
