Healthy Ways to Calm Down

Create a personal regulation toolkit. Workshop exercises: 1) Try four strategies such as walking, breathing, prayer, music, journaling, or talking. 2) Rate how helpful each was. 3) Create a five-item calm-down menu. 4) Identify when adult help is needed.

Choose safe, accessible strategies. Calming skills are not substitutes for professional help when a teen is in danger or severe distress.
